Chief Clarence Louie Keynote Speaker at Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce of Winnipeg Gala Dinner

Last Updated: 2012/10/16 @ 11:35 am

Chief Clarence Louie is the keynote speaker at this year’s Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce (ACC) annual gala on November 14, 2012 in Winnipeg, MB.

"We are confident that this event will start the conversations to create the impetus for creating wealth in First Nations communities” stated Rhonda McCorriston, Manager of the ACC. “It is very exciting for us to have such an honoured individual as our guest speaker and we expect that the event will generate much discussion and interest within our communities as well as in the Winnipeg business audience.”

In addition to being an outstanding First Nations entrepreneur and business expert, Chief Clarence Louie speaks openly and honestly about the struggles to create partnerships with industries, the challenges of overcoming historical dependence to full employment in his community, and the obstacles of bringing culture and tradition together with business and industry.  His testimony to the new self-governance era is controversial but starts some great discussions about the future of First Nations in creating and managing, developing and growing wealth through partnerships and government negotiations.

Five hundred Aboriginal businesses and government leaders, industries, provincial and federal government departments, and small businesses will come together for this event. “We expect the address by Chief Louie will enrich the dialogue on the goals and values of communities when it comes to economic development and the next steps to getting there” said Karl Zadnik, Chair of the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce who is looking forward to hosting Chief Louie for the day in Winnipeg. He will present to the Aboriginal community prior to the gala.

The Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce is committed to excellence in providing exceptional value to all its members through its portfolio of innovative and value-added products and services.
