Assistant Water Operator Training Course

The Manitoba Environmental Industries Association (MEIA) partnered with the Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC) and the Northern Manitoba Sector Council (NMSC) to develop and deliver the Assistant Water Operator Training Course.

Participants learn the basic of water disinfection, testing, sedimentation and sand filters. The lessons delivered are specific to the water system training required in that community.

Course materials designed for the community will remain in the community for future reference. Instructors are experienced in training in community and using existing facilities as part of the curriculum.

Who can benefit?

  • Communities requiring operator training for their water treatment plant

  • Those interested in working in Water Distribution & Water Waste sectors

This course is to provide introductory skills to compliment communities' Certified Operators and can serve as an opportunity to pursue certification as a career in operating water and wastewater systems.
