Course Overview:

This one-day intensive training provides water and wastewater professionals with foundational knowledge of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), their environmental and health impacts, and the regulatory frameworks guiding their management. The morning session focuses on theoretical understanding of PFAS regulations, sampling, and compliance strategies. The afternoon session transitions into a hands-on laboratory and plant-based learning experience, where participants will apply sampling, analytical, and operational principles related to PFAS monitoring in real-world conditions.

Notes for Participants:

  • Please bring steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing for the plant portion

  • All other PPE will be provided on-site

  • Lunch and refreshments are provided

  • Photography within the plant is not permitted without authorization

  • Participant workbook (slides, reference charts, regulatory summary)

  • PFAS sampling checklist and chain-of-custody template

  • Certificate of completion
