Applied Hazard Awareness for Waste and Recycling Workers

In collaboration with the Manitoba Construction Sector Council, Supply Chain Manitoba, the Manitoba Trucking Association, and the Manitoba Association of Regional Recyclers, MEIA is pleased to offer this training specifically developed for workers and supervisors employed at community and regional waste disposal grounds, waste transfer stations as well as Eco-Centers and Recycling Depots.

Participants will learn essential information to help them do their jobs safely and effectively. Participants who complete the one day course will earn Certificates for both Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

This course will also be offered the following dates/locations:

  • Feb 18-19, 2026 - Thompson, MB

  • Feb 24, 2026 – Beausejour, MB

  • Feb 26, 2026 – Arborg, MB

Registration is free and will be on a first come, first serve basis. First priority will be given to recycling/waste workers but If you’d like us to hold a spot for you, or any of your team members, let us know and we’ll connect with you to discuss options.
