As climate expectations rise from investors, customers, and regulators alike, businesses are being asked not only to set targets but to demonstrate credible, actionable transition plans. For many organizations, the question becomes: where do you begin?

Featuring Business Future Pathways, this session will provide an overview of its national research and engagement efforts to advance practical, investor-endorsed guidance for corporate climate transition planning in Canada. Participants will gain insight into emerging best practices in sustainability reporting and transition plan development, and explore how climate considerations are being integrated into long-term business strategy.

The session will also include a sneak preview of Business Future Pathways' new work on developing a sustainable finance taxonomy for Canada's financial system, which will ultimately standardize which types of economic activities at the project and asset level are aligned with ambitious climate scenarios.

Following the presentation, the session will transition into a fireside-style conversation with interactive audience Q&A. This discussion will create space for candid exchange, inviting attendees to bring forward questions and share their experiences with sustainability reporting, climate planning, and operational challenges.

Whether your business is early in its climate journey or refining an existing strategy, this session offers practical insight, peer learning, and a chance to shape the future direction of Canadian corporate transition planning.

Business Future Pathways is supported by the Trottier Foundation, Canada Climate Law Initiative and the Canadian Climate Institute.
