Environmental Policy and Law in Manitoba provides an overview of environmental history, legislation, and economics, offering the broader context in which environmental law operates. Students will study federal and provincial frameworks, with a focus on environmental regulations in Manitoba, including Environmental Assessment, The Environment Act, The Dangerous Goods Handling and Transportation Act, The Contaminated Sites Remediation Act and The Waste Reduction and Prevention Act.
Key topics include water and wastewater regulations, best practices for compliance, and the regulatory processes governing environmental protection. Discussion will highlight how environmental professionals interface with legal requirements and where to access additional resources.
Discussion will focus on the regulatory process to obtain an approval and how to comply with legislation.
